Abstract

Piping system using pvc material and 1hp pump to calculate the energy losses in the system. Orifices are used with different diameters to drop the pressure and calculate the flow rate. Using pressure gauges to calculate the pressure drop of the water and Nano fluid in the system. Nano fluid is a scientific topic in our industrial studies. It is a substance which is used in a lot of applications nowadays mainly in cooling, heat transfer and medical researches. (Al2O3) Nano particles with the aid of (sodium dodecyl sulfate) as a surfactant in the preparation. Two step method is used with ultrasonic device to prepare the fluid. Collecting the experimental data of the fluids used in the system and compare the data by knowing the pressure and the flow rate then using this data to calculate the eddy losses of different orifices (1/4 , 1/2 , 3/4 , 1 ) inch.
