Abstract

The Genius Bladeless Hydro Turbine utilizes a bladeless design to harness the power of water vortices. Unlike conventional turbines, this design avoids the environmental impact of blades on aquatic life. Inspired by advancements in vortex hydro, the present test rig investigates the efficiency and feasibility of the turbine’s vortex-induced rotation. The test rig contains a tank, centrifugal pump, cone, turbine, encoder, and dynamo. Water channeled through the turbine creates a stable vortex, spinning a rotor for electricity generation. This approach presents a potentially more ecological and cost-effective solution compared to traditional hydropower. The main output from the present project are power outputs, torque, rotational speed and overall efficiency.
