Abstract:
In the application of vertical transportation systems, a major decision is, which drive system to use, hydraulic or traction? Each type has characteristics which makes it particularly well suited for a specific application. In general, hydraulic elevators are suitable for low-rise buildings (up to 6 floors) whereas, the roped (traction) elevators are best suited to higher buildings. Over the last forty years hydraulic elevator has been accepted worldwide. As the Machine-room-less (MRL) traction elevator system was introduced to replace the hydraulic elevator, strong competition for the low-rise market started. Aggressive market strategies have been applied solely to grasp the market and decline popularity of the hydraulic elevator. These efforts created the MRL trend at the expense of safety. Purchasers however, should be informed about the merits and shortcomings of both elevator systems to ensure the most suitable and safe application of each type. In this paper, mainly hydraulic and MRL traction elevators are discussed and compared in order to enlighten consumers.

في تطبيق نظام الرفع الرأسي كان السؤال الاهم هو ما هو النظام الانسب في عملية الرفع هل هو نظام الرفع باستخدام الحبال ام النظام الهيدروليكي ؟ وجد ان كل نظام له مميزات و له عيوب فمثلا النظام الهيدروليكي هو الانسب في المباني ذات الارتفاع المنخفض ) ست طوابق ( بحد اقصي ، بينما نظام الجر يعتبر الانسب في المباني ذات الارتفاع العالي .
لكن علي مدي الاربعين سنة الماضية ازدادت شعبية المصاعد الهيدوليكية في جميع انحاء العالم خاصة بعد ادخال نظام ) م . ر . ل ( اي استبدال غرفة التحكم في المصعد و التي توجد اعلي المصعد بوحدة تحكم جانبية توجد بجوار المصعد ، مما جعل المصعد الهيدروليكي الاكثر امان و الذي اجبر المشتري علي استخدامه في كثير من المجالات علي حساب الانواع الاخري من المصاعد .
